About the Role
Effectively communicate and clearly express ideas and animation decisions with both the animation team and other disciplines, while being open to feedback.
Deliver output of desired quality using a solid grasp of the principles of body anatomy, movement, anticipation, overshoot, follow-through, squash and stretch, forward/inverse kinematics and other facets of both 3D animation.
Think and visualize character movement both philosophically and realistically.
Create libraries of reusable animation assets for use in production e.g. walk cycles, run cycles.
Work with the Rigging and/or Modeling team in the development of 3D character rigs for production.
Be proactive in improving current practice.
Coach & mentor others.
Advise, improve and troubleshoot current tools and animation issues.
Requirements
Understanding and knowledge of character rigs, game animation pipelines, animation integration into game engines, and animation tools.
Strong experience of using Maya or equivalent 3D program.
Knowledge of Cinematic and Motion Capture Editing and cleanup.
Advanced understanding of body mechanics.
Advanced understanding of facial posing required to achieve appealing expressions and mouth shapes.
Understand production pipeline, and rigging/modelling terminology to complete production-ready character rigs.
Animation industry experience, preferably in CG animation for game, cinematics, TV, or film - likely to have been credited as Animator on at least two series.
Cinematic knowledge.
Experience with character and prop rigging.
Understand the technical limitations of game engines and console platforms.

Veative Labs is looking for skilled 3D artist. The ideal candidate has experience animating both human and non-humanoid characters. A solid grasp of the principles of body movement, anticipation, overshoot, follow-through, squash and stretch, forward and inverse kinematics and other facts of both 2D and 3D animation is essential. The animator must be well-versed in related tools 3D Max, Maya (Modelling, Rigging, Texturing, Lighting, Rendering techniques, Animation), FX, RotoScope, PhotoShop etc. The ideal candidate works well in an environment of peers who are passionate about making great games.
